It’s nearly here again. The day we anticipate every week. It’s the day our 4 year old is constantly asking about….”Iths et Thabbat yet?”
When Y’shua (Jesus) came to show us how to live Shabbat He came to simplify it. This day was set apart when the earth was very young….a mere 6 days old. Religious organizations tend to deeply trivialize or complicate the day. It was no differeent 2,000 years ago when Y’shua was here or 4,000 years ago when Abraham desired to have a relationship with His Creator and it’s no different this very day.
Y’shua says “Come to me all you who are burden and heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” He simplifies the day. In Messiah there is no longer the additions or subtractions of man when we come to Him. We remember He is our salvation. He says, rest, rejoice, rejuvenate your weary soul. Bless your family, spend time remembering and enjoying your Creator God and each other. As it was with our Father Abraham so it is with us. Abraham looked ahead to His salvation having the faith to believe God means what He says and we look back but it’s all the same rest, joy and peace. Can you hear it? His is a quiet voice. Can you feel it? It’s a complete calm. Ahhh Shabbat Shalom…it’s here again.
